NXGM Privacy Policy
Effective date: [DATE — set on publication] · Last updated: [DATE]
NXGM (NexGenMusik LLC, "we," "us") is the direct marketplace for the live-entertainment economy at nexgenmusik.com (the "Platform"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Plain English on purpose.
1. What we collect
Information you give us. When you create an account: your email address, password (stored only in encrypted form — we can never see it), name or act name, roles, and city/ state. When you build your profile: whatever you choose to add — bio, tagline, genres, photos, banners, packages, and similar. When you use the Platform: your posts, gigs, shows, applications, messages, group and event-wall posts, follows, RSVPs, and reviews.
Fan subscriptions. When you subscribe to an artist or business, your email address and name are shared with that account only and added to their audience list. That's the feature's whole purpose, and it's disclosed at the moment you subscribe. Unsubscribe any time in the Platform.
Collected automatically. Basic technical data needed to run a website: IP address, browser type, device info, and pages accessed — via server logs and a session token that keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell your personal information — to anyone, ever.
2. How we use it
To operate the Platform (accounts, profiles, discovery, messaging, bookings boards, groups, events); to keep it safe (preventing fraud, spam, and abuse; enforcing our Terms); to communicate with you about your account and the Platform; and to understand usage in aggregate so we can improve it. We do not use your content or data to train AI models, and we never sell or rent personal information.
3. Who can see what
Your profile (name, roles, city, bio, photos, packages) is public — that's what makes discovery work. Your posts on public surfaces (gig board, collabs, groups, event walls, reviews) are visible to Platform users. Your messages are private to you and the person you're messaging. Your email address is private — visible to no other member, except an artist/business you deliberately subscribe to (Section 1). Gig applications are visible only to you and the gig's poster.
4. Who we share it with
Service providers only, and only to run the Platform: our database and authentication provider (Supabase, data stored in the United States), our hosting/delivery provider (Cloudflare), and email delivery services when we send account emails. Each processes data on our instructions. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of members or the public, or as part of a business transfer (e.g., a merger — with notice to you). That's the whole list.
Artists and Fan Lists: members you subscribe to receive your email as described above. Once exported, they control that copy and are legally responsible for using it properly (our Terms bind them to anti-spam laws and forbid selling it).
5. Where your data lives
Our servers are located in the United States. If you use the Platform from outside the U.S., your information is transferred to and processed in the U.S.
6. How long we keep it
As long as your account is active. Delete your account (in the Platform or by emailing hello@nexgenmusik.com) and we delete your profile and personal information within 30 days, except: content you posted into shared spaces (messages others received, group posts) may persist for those participants; and we may retain minimal records where the law requires or to resolve disputes. Backups purge on a rolling schedule.
7. Your rights and choices
Whatever your state, we honor these for everyone: access (ask what we have), correction (fix it — mostly self-serve in your profile), deletion (close your account and erase your data), portability (get a copy in a usable format), and unsubscribe (from any artist's list, or from our non-essential emails). Email hello@nexgenmusik.com — we respond within 30 days and never discriminate against you for exercising rights. California residents: the rights above cover CCPA/CPRA requests; we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those laws define it. Colorado residents: same under the CPA.
8. Security
Row-level security rules enforced at the database layer, encrypted connections (HTTPS) everywhere, encrypted password hashing, and access controls on our side. No internet service can promise perfection — if we ever have a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you as the law requires.
9. Children
The Platform is for adults 18+. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and accounts require being 18+. If you believe a minor has an account, email us and we'll remove it.
10. Changes
If we materially change this policy, we'll notify you (email or prominent notice) before the change takes effect. Continued use after that is acceptance.
